Those who work in the healthcare field have faced untold amounts of trauma, especially over the last few years.
Stress is so ingrained in the everyday work experience that physicians, nurses and other allied health professionals are struggling. Stress can affect healthcare workers at rates much higher than the average population. Many of these individuals have never developed resilience against stress.
Are you a decision-maker in a healthcare organization worried about the mental well-being of your employees? Or are you a healthcare worker beginning to feel the ramifications of burnout?
The fully online Resiliency in Modern Health Care course benefits individuals and organizations alike through evidence-based stress management techniques and strategies developed by psychologists.
This module is designed to provide an overview of how stress impacts all aspects of personal well-being from mind to body. You will also gain an understanding of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and how cognitive strategies are used to navigate the complexities of managing stress, anxiety, and depression.
As healthcare professionals, the ability to mentally adapt and find equilibrium in the face of adversity is not just beneficial; it is essential for both personal welfare and patient care. In this module, you will explore the nuances of cognitive restructuring, learning how to dismantle and rebuild thought processes that no longer serve your professional or personal life. We will guide you through the steps of identifying negative thought patterns and reshaping them into perspectives that empower and motivate.
Delve into the powerful triad of relationships, self-care, and sleep—each a pillar that upholds the structure of our daily lives and our capacity to endure the rigors of our profession. Throughout this module, interactive exercises, reflective prompts, and real-life scenarios will help you to integrate these behavioral strategies into your life.
Explore the transformative power of mindfulness, meditation, and the cultivation of positive emotions—tools that can profoundly influence our emotional landscape. Mindfulness teaches us to be present in the moment, an invaluable skill in a field where unexpected challenges are commonplace. Practice anchoring techniques, fostering a sense of calm and clarity amid the storm.
As we conclude this course, we will address how stress and trauma are related, recognizing its profound impact on healthcare professionals. We will discuss strategies to not only cope with trauma but to emerge with strengthened resilience, ensuring you’re prepared for the realities of your critical role.
77% of healthcare workers “believe a healthcare crisis will occur within the next year due to understaffing and employee burnout” while 1 in 3 healthcare workers plan to leave their job.
The pandemic exasperated what was already happening in the healthcare industry. While hospitals and health networks are working to mitigate these issues, something must be done now to mitigate the effects they are having on the employees of these institutions. Enter: Resilience.
1. The ability to withstand pressure in the moment
2. The ability to recover quickly
